Meet The Graduating Twin Brothers Creating Soul & R&B: TwinSoundz

    May 13, 2025

From the Southside of Chicago to the heart of the Atlanta University Center, Jasper "Jazz" Mitchell and Jacobi "Cobe" Mitchell have become more than just students of Morehouse College—they are its soundtrack. 5B8A7576

Better known as TwinSoundz, this dynamic R&B/Neo-Soul duo has carved out a signature presence, not just as artists, but as community-builders, scholars, and servant leaders. With their distinct harmonies, masterful instrumentation, and lyrical depth, Jazz and Cobe have redefined what it means to blend passion with purpose. Whether they’re commanding the stage at Morehouse Homecoming, hosting their beloved “TwinSoundz Tuesday” jam sessions, or singing the National Anthem for the Chicago Bulls, their artistry reaches hearts and inspires minds.

Now, as graduating seniors—Jazz, a Sociology major, and Cobe, a Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing—the brothers reflect on their journey through Morehouse, their music, and the faith that has guided them every step of the way.

Jazz’s journey through Morehouse has been one of self-discovery, spiritual growth, and service. As a Bonner Scholar, he exemplified servant leadership, pouring into the community both through mentorship and music. His talents found a home in student organizations, showcases, and pageants, always leading with humility and harmony.

He proudly recalls opening for artists like DVSN and performing for large campus audiences—not for the applause, but for the joy of making people feel. “We’ve been awarded many beautiful stages to share our gifts,” he says. “But I’m most proud of the love we’ve received from the community that believed in us.”

Post-graduation, Jazz and his brother will begin the Pinkston Fellowship in San Jose, California, building a music studio at Bellarmine College Preparatory and teaching music across songwriting, production, and instrumentation. It’s the next step in a divine assignment: “Pursuing my career in this fashion is a testament to trusting God’s direction. This is artist development, life development, and legacy-building all in one.”

Jazz credits his success to faith, family, and fellowship—especially his twin: “To Cobe, literally couldn’t do it without you bro. I am because we are.”

For Cobe, Morehouse has been a proving ground—one that taught him resilience, leadership, and the value of authentic expression. A King Scholar, he balanced academic excellence with artistic innovation, using music as ministry across the AUC. From Lytehouse to AchieveMoore, he found ways to uplift others while honing his own voice.

Cobe speaks candidly about challenges—especially navigating the often-difficult terrain of financial aid and institutional processes. “It was a test of patience and emotional endurance,” he reflects. “But I’ve grown into someone who doesn’t back down. That grit will follow me wherever I go.”

Like his brother, he’ll be heading to San Jose for the Pinkston Fellowship—equipped not only with musical talent, but with vision. “Our long-term goal is to shape culture, mentor creatives, and become forces of impact in both music and our communities.”

Cobe defines a Morehouse Man as someone who is evolvingnot perfect, but purposeful. “Morehouse didn’t give me my purpose—it revealed it. And I plan to use that purpose to build something bigger than myself.”

At Morehouse, Jazz and Cobe did more than perform—they created space. Their TwinSoundz Tuesday sessions became hubs of healing and joy. Their presence uplifted the culture of the campus. And their story—rooted in faith, family, and fire—is a reminder of what happens when you answer your calling.

Their next chapter? West Coast studios, youth mentorship, and national influence. But their rhythm? That will always have roots on West End Avenue.

The world better make room—TwinSoundz is just getting started.
